What you haven’t been reading are articles about the women who ARE in the investing community. Sure, there are articles about a few of them, and there was a wonderful Twitter campaign started by Cindy Gallop entitled “Female VC’s Everyone Should Know,” which listed over 50 female venture capitalists; however, thanks to Twitter’s API cap and Cindy’s prolific tweeting, there is nothing to link to for your reference. I’ve always been of the opinion that shining a light on what you want will help you find it, and will also help others find it, so instead of shining a light on the lack of women, I looked for women that were venture capitalists or angel investors. Building off of Cindy Gallop’s tweets and adding in knowledge and collective brain power of my small but amazing network, I was able to put together a list of, not 5, not 50, but 105 women in the investing world that you should know. I can’t imagine that this is close to all of them; however, I thought a list over 100 was substantial enough to share with the world. *Note: If there is no venture fund listed, the women are private investors. Do you know more women who are VCs or angel investors? Let us know in the comments, and we’ll add them to our list.
