The Nommunity website has played host to a community of those with such dietary restrictions, offering a wealth of health information, news, and resources. The Dallas-based team, and fresh graduates of the Tech Wildcatters class of 2012, recently announced the release of their new iPhone app “Food Community.” After selecting between your preferred restaurant types – vegetarian, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, organic, and/or locavore – the Food Community app populates a list of restaurants based on your current location and desired search radius.
The Future of Food Community
As of now, the Nommunity app only offers a map of nearby restaurants that cater to one of the six dietary restriction filters. According to Zachary Wiles, Nommunity CTO, this is soon to change: Check out the Food Community App today to find healthy eats in your neighborhood.
