While many of us would love to forget this year entirely, 2020 has brought upon some notable victories for a select few companies. Since then, Zoom has seen a truly unprecedented rise in users and revenue, boasting up to four times the revenue compared to last year and more than 300 million meeting participants per day. While competitors like Google Meet and GoToMeeting continue to add features to try to catch up, the reality is that Zoom won the battle of attention at the beginning of the pandemic, and it doesn’t appear to be giving it up any time soon. To add to the video chat app’s legacy, Zoom has now been announced as the most downloaded app in the App Store, for iPhone and iPad users, a truly impressive 1-2 punch for any app, let alone one that was relatively unknown just a year ago.
